About your psychotherapist

My Story
Growing up, I lived what many would call a life on the edge.
Born in Denmark, I moved to Brisbane, Australia with my mother and brother at the age of 10. The transition was difficult, and I struggled with loneliness and a sense of disconnection. Over time, I found myself caught in a cycle of depression, addiction and lawlessness.
But change is possible. Over the past 20 years, through deep personal work and a commitment to self-development, I’ve transformed my life. In 2004, I returned to Denmark to reconnect with my father and extended family, and today I live in Hvidovre with my wife and daughter.

From Struggle to Support
Throughout these years, I have supported many individuals facing addiction – drawing from my own lived experience to mentor and guide others through their recovery journeys.
Offering empathy, practical tools, and real-life understanding, I’ve walked beside people on their path to healing. This ongoing work sparked a deeper calling within me — and ultimately led to my decision to become a psychotherapist.

My Path to Becoming a Psychotherapist
In 2020, I qualified as a psychotherapist, driven by the belief that my personal journey could inspire and support others through their own struggles.
I bring not only clinical knowledge but also a profound emotional sensitivity to my work — rooted in lived experience and years of working with people in vulnerable states.

How I Work
I work from a psychodynamic approach, which focuses on exploring the unconscious emotional patterns that shape our behaviour, relationships, and inner life. This method helps clients gain insight, shift long-held patterns, and create lasting change from within.

Further Training
To deepen my practice, I’ve completed a postgraduate course in trauma therapy, equipping me to work with the emotional impact of complex and painful experiences.
I’m also trained in NADA therapy – a gentle, non-verbal form of ear acupuncture used to support emotional regulation, reduce stress, and ease symptoms related to trauma, anxiety, and addiction.

A Unique Perspective
My life experiences have granted me a deep understanding of the human psyche. They’ve taught me compassion, care, and how to truly meet people where they are.
This insight allows me to fine-tune my treatments and connect with clients in a way that is grounded, respectful, and deeply human.

” Trauma is not what happens to you.
Trauma is what happens inside you,
as a result of what happens to you. “
